Ferrari Completes 2-Day Mugello Test of 2025 Formula 1 Tyres
Formula 1 news today: Ferrari has concluded a two-day testing session at Mugello circuit, putting the 2025-specification tyres to the test. Pirelli, the official Formula 1 tyre supplier, has been conducting tests with various teams across several circuits, including Barcelona, Jerez, Suzuka, and Paul Ricard, to gather vital data on the next-generation tyres.
Mugello’s unique combination of medium to high-speed corners made it an ideal testing ground for Pirelli, which is striving to perfect its 2025 Formula 1 tyres. Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc took the wheel, completing 120 laps using the Hard compound, specifically designed to reduce overheating. However, a brief rain shower in the afternoon halted the test programme, prompting a switch to the Intermediate tyre.
“This testing session marks another crucial step in Pirelli’s tyre development process, as the Italian manufacturer refines its 2025 Formula 1 tyres, set to debut in the upcoming season.”
Meanwhile, Carlos Sainz enjoyed a more seamless afternoon behind the wheel of Ferrari’s SF-24 car, logging 135 laps to wrap up Ferrari’s second Pirelli outing.
