24 Hours of Le Mans: Intense Racing Action Unfolds with 4 Hours Remaining
As the clock ticks down to the final hours of the iconic 24 Hours of Le Mans, the excitement reaches a fever pitch. A series of safety car periods overnight and at dawn have bunched up the top runners, with Toyota looking strong in the Hypercar class.
With just 4 hours remaining, the Hypercar battle is intense, with Toyota’s No.8 GR010 Hybrid Hypercar, led by Sebastien Buemi, seeking his fifth Le Mans crown. However, Porsche Penske’s No.6 963 Hybrid, driven by Kevin Estre, is hot on his heels, with the gap narrowing as the track continues to dry.
The No.7 Toyota GR010 Hybrid holds third, with Kamui Kobayashi and Jose Maria Lopez sharing driving duties. Ferrari AF Corse’s No.50 entry, piloted by Antonio Fuoco, has moved up to fourth, followed closely by Earl Bamber’s No.2 Cadillac V-Series.R.
In the LMGT3 class, history is being written as the first-ever LMGT3 race unfolds. The No.92 Manthey PureRxcing Porsche, driven by Alex Malykhin, leads a Porsche parade, followed by their comrades in the No.91 Manthey EMA. United Autosports’ No.59 McLaren, driven by Nicolas Costa, Gregoire Saucy, and James Cottingham, rounds out the top three.
Meanwhile, in the LMP2 class, AF Corse’s Oreca-Gibson, driven by Nicola Varonne, Francois Perrodo, and Ben Barnicoat, has emerged as the leader, commanding both LMP2 and LMP2 Pro/Am categories. The No.37 Cool Racing car, piloted by Malthe Jakobsen, Ritomo Miyata, and Lorenzo Fluxa, holds a strong second place, followed by the reigning champions from Inter Europol Competition.
