    Fernando Alonso Inspires Next Generation of Formula 1 Enthusiasts with STEM Workshops Ahead of Spanish Grand Prix

    In the lead-up to this weekend’s highly anticipated Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix, two-time Formula 1 champion Fernando Alonso took time to give back to his hometown community in Oviedo, Asturias. The Aston Martin driver hosted a series of STEM (science, technology, engineering, and maths) workshops at the Museo y Circuito Fernando Alonso, inspiring 30 lucky school students to pursue careers in these vital fields.

    STEM and Karting Sessions with Aston Martin and Aramco

    Joining forces with fellow Spaniard and Aston Martin Ambassador Pedro de la Rosa, Alonso led an action-packed day that included karting sessions, STEM-focused activities, and interactive discussions. This initiative marks the third installment of Aston Martin and fuel partner Aramco’s collaborative STEM/Karting sessions, following successful events in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and Shanghai, China.

    “At Aramco, we believe in pushing the limits of possibility through sport, and we are using sports as a platform to drive innovation, create opportunity, improve lives and positively impact society,” emphasized Rania Biltagi, Aramco’s Marketing, Partnership & Sponsorship Manager. “Together with the Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team, we seek to inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers, sports fans, and even racing drivers.”

    Alonso’s Commitment to the Next Generation

    Formula 1 news: Alonso, a hero to many in Spain due to his impressive exploits in the sport, was thrilled to host the event in his hometown. “It’s always special to speak with younger generations and see their passion for motor racing,” said Alonso. “Motorsports has grown in popularity over the years in Spain, and we hope to see more Spanish talent making it into the highest level of racing.”

    The Spanish driver, who currently sits ninth in the Drivers’ standings with 41 points, is poised to contest his home round this weekend at the Circuit de Barcelona Catalunya. As the Formula 1 schedule heats up, Alonso remains committed to giving back to his community and inspiring the next generation of Formula 1 enthusiasts.
