Ferrari Boss Vasseur Dismisses Concerns About Hamilton-Leclerc Partnership in 2025
As Ferrari gears up to sign Lewis Hamilton alongside Charles Leclerc for the 2025 Formula 1 season, team principal Frederic Vasseur is confident that having two superstar drivers will not lead to points being split across both cars. Instead, he believes it will bring a mutual benefit to the team, driving them to the top of the Formula 1 standings.
Vasseur’s optimism stems from the current dynamic between Leclerc and Carlos Sainz, who have been pushing each other to deliver their best performances throughout the season. “Part of our result today is also coming from the fact that we have a good emulation between Carlos and Charles – that they are pushing each other,” Vasseur explained.
“I am really convinced that I prefer having two strong ones than not,” Vasseur said. “For sure, you can imagine the fact that you have two drivers and a potential of points for the team you are speaking about two. But I am sure that the potential of points for the team with two good drivers is much higher than with one and a half. That’s my view.”
Vasseur also praised Sainz’s professionalism, despite knowing he will not be retained by Ferrari beyond the end of the year. “He is a mega professional, fully committed and he is doing a great job. I am convinced that it will stay like this until the end of 2024,” Vasseur said.
As Ferrari sets its sights on the 2025 Formula 1 calendar, Vasseur’s confidence in a Hamilton-Leclerc partnership is a key aspect of the team’s strategy to return to the top of the Formula 1 news headlines.
