Formula 1 Champion Max Verstappen to Make Goodwood Festival of Speed Debut

Formula 1 enthusiasts, mark your calendars! Reigning Formula 1 champion Max Verstappen is set to make his highly anticipated Goodwood Festival of Speed debut next month, alongside a staggering Red Bull presence at the event. This marks the first time in the festival’s history that the current F1 world champion will be in attendance, bringing the excitement of Formula 1 news to the forefront.

Verstappen will take the wheel of the RB16B, the very car that earned him his first Formula 1 title in 2021, and drive it up the iconic Goodwood hill on Sunday, July 14. But that’s not all – a total of seven Red Bull F1 models are scheduled to be in action, including the RB19 from 2023, which will be piloted by his current teammate Sergio Perez.

    Red Bull’s Extensive Showcase

Adding to the Red Bull frenzy, team boss Christian Horner, a seasoned Formula 3000 competitor in the 1990s, will also get behind the wheel, this time in an RB8 from 2012. The lineup doesn’t stop there, as former Red Bull drivers Daniel Ricciardo, David Coulthard, Mark Webber, and Christian Klien will take turns driving the remaining cars up the hill, including the RB1 that marked the team’s Formula 1 debut 20 seasons ago.

The extensive Red Bull showcase will follow the world debut of its new, Adrian Newey-penned RB17 Hypercar on Friday, July 12. This monumental display is a testament to Red Bull’s commitment to the world of motorsport and is sure to thrill fans of Formula 1 news and the Formula 1 calendar.

“In its 31-year history, this is the first time that the Festival of Speed has celebrated a Formula 1 team on this scale,” exclaimed event founder the Duke of Richmond. “To have both the current drivers โ€“ not to mention the reigning world champion โ€“ the CEO and team principal, as well as so many team icons is fantastic. Goodwood’s motorsport events have always prided themselves on the access that they offer fans, and I am delighted that Red Bull Racing has fulfilled our ambition by bringing together such an illustrious and outstanding group of drivers and cars.”

Other Formula 1 Teams Joining the Festivities

Current Formula 1 teams are no strangers to the Goodwood Festival of Speed, and this year is no exception. Joining Red Bull will be fellow Formula 1 powerhouses Ferrari, Mercedes, McLaren, Alpine, and Williams, with the latter confirming that its 2024 drivers Alex Albon and Logan Sargeant, as well as team boss James Vowles, will be taking to the hill during the fixture.

Get ready for an unforgettable weekend of Formula 1 action, as the Goodwood Festival of Speed brings the world of motorsport to life. From July 11-14, the festival is sure to be a hotspot for Formula 1 news, with the Tag Heuer Formula 1 and Formula 1 Autocentre enthusiasts eagerly awaiting the event.
