Haas Announces Silverstone Tyre Test Line-Up with Bearman and Fittipaldi

Formula 1 news today: Haas has confirmed that Oliver Bearman and Pietro Fittipaldi will represent the team in a two-day tyre test at Silverstone, following the British Grand Prix. This test will provide a valuable opportunity for the American outfit to gather crucial data on their latest upgrade package, while also giving their young drivers some vital track time.

Fittipaldi, who has been Haas’ reserve driver since 2021, will take the wheel of the VF-24 for the first time on Tuesday, before handing over to Bearman. Bearman has been confirmed to join the team as a full-time driver from next season and participated in his third FP1 session this weekend.

“I’m super excited to be testing for MoneyGram Haas F1 Team in the Pirelli Tire Test, as it’s essential to understand different compounds,” said Fittipaldi. “It’s always a privilege to drive a Formula 1 car, and even more so to assist MoneyGram Haas F1 Team in its development. As we’ve seen, they’ve been doing a really great job currently with development, and I want to use this track time to help extrapolate as much data as I can for the team.”

    Bearman added:

“I will take any opportunity to get behind the VF-24, so after two free practices in close succession with the team, it’s a rare and fantastic opportunity to get a full day of running. I’m in a good rhythm with the team, and next week โ€“ hopefully aided by good weather conditions โ€“ will let me expand my knowledge of driving a Formula 1 car ahead of my first season as a full-time driver.”

During the test, Haas will also trial race support crews in more senior roles, with Ronan O’ Hare and Laura Mueller, Performance Engineers in the team, acting as race engineers to Fittipaldi and Bearman throughout the whole test. This is a valuable opportunity for the team to assess their readiness for the Formula 1 calendar ahead.
