Iron Lynx Unveils Driver Lineup for 2024 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC)

The Italian racing team, Iron Lynx, has officially announced its driver lineup for the LMGT3 class of the 2024 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC). The team will field two Lamborghini Hurácan GT3 Evo 2 cars, including an all-female Iron Dames line-up in car #85.

Notably, 2024 marks a significant shift for Iron Lynx, as they switch from racing two Porsche 911 RSR-19s in the 2023 WEC to Lamborghini Hurácan GT3 Evo 2s, following spec changes that now permit the team to compete with Lamborghini factory support. In addition to their LMGT3 efforts, Iron Lynx is stepping up to the Hypercar class with their highly anticipated Lamborghini SC63.

Claudio Schiavoni, co-founder and part-owner of the Iron Lynx team, will pilot the #60 car alongside long-time teammate Matteo Cressoni. The duo has already raced the Lamborghini together at the 2024 24 Hours of Daytona, where they unfortunately retired due to gearbox issues after 293 laps. Frenchman Franck Perera will join the pair, bringing his experience as a Lamborghini Squadra Corse driver and having competed for Iron Lynx at Daytona, finishing 7th in class in his Hurácan.

“Having already worked with Franck in the United States, I am very happy to have him join our team on the global stage,” said Andrea Piccini, Iron Lynx Team Principal and CEO. “Doriane’s progress in the last few years has been exceptional. She is an incredible talent and will complement both Sarah and Michelle’s strengths massively.”

The Iron Dames enjoyed a remarkable 2023 WEC season, achieving a perfect run of zero retirements, and narrowly missing out on a podium finish at the Centenary 24 Hours of Le Mans. They secured a rostrum finish at the 2023 6 Hours of Portimão and wrapped up the season with a class win at the 2023 Bapco Energies 8 Hours of Bahrain.

The Iron Dames line-up remains largely unchanged, with Belgium’s Sarah Bovy and Denmark’s Michelle Gatting returning for 2024. French sensation Doriane Pin, a Mercedes-AMG Junior driver, joins the team, fresh from making headlines in the LMP2 class in the 2023 season. Pin secured a podium finish at the 2023 1000 Miles of Sebring aged just 19.

The 2024 FIA World Endurance Championship kicks off on 02 March with the Qatar 1812km, marking the start of an exciting season for Iron Lynx and their Iron Dames program.
