Aston Martin Strengthens Technical Division with Enrico Cardile as New Chief Technical Officer

In a significant move, Aston Martin has announced the appointment of Enrico Cardile, formerly Ferrari’s Chassis Technical Director, as its new Chief Technical Officer, effective from the 2025 Formula 1 season. The news comes after rumors emerged last month suggesting that Cardile was being courted by the Silverstone-based team, and Ferrari’s confirmation on Monday that the long-serving Italian had vacated his position.

Cardile, who brings nearly 20 years of experience from Ferrari, will play a crucial role in shaping Aston Martin’s technical strategy as the team gears up for significant regulation changes in 2026. “I’m looking forward to joining Aston Martin Aramco,” Cardile said. “The ambition and desire are clear, and it is a unique opportunity to be part of that journey. This is a personal and professional challenge, and I look forward to working with the team to bring success to this iconic brand.”

Aston Martin Executive Chairman Lawrence Stroll expressed his delight at Cardile’s appointment, stating, “I would like to welcome Enrico to Aston Martin Aramco as we look to reinforce the technical leadership team ahead of significant regulation changes in 2026. I am thrilled that we continue to attract world-class talent to our team. Enrico shares my motivation to be successful in Formula 1 and will have all the resources available to him to realise that ambition.”

Stroll also highlighted the team’s efforts to build a formidable technical leadership team, citing the upcoming arrival of Andy Cowell as Group CEO in October and the existing leadership structure. “Together with Andy Cowell joining as Group CEO in October and our existing leaders, we are creating a formidable team,” he added.

Aston Martin Team Principal Mike Krack welcomed Cardile to the team, saying, “I am delighted to welcome Enrico to Aston Martin Aramco. Enrico has nearly 20 years of experience at Ferrari and will offer a fresh perspective to our technical strategy. This is a key appointment for the team as we build towards the new 2026 regulations โ€“ an important next step on our journey.”

With Cardile on board, Aston Martin is poised to make significant strides in the Formula 1 calendar, and his expertise will undoubtedly be invaluable as the team navigates the challenges of the 2026 season. As a prominent figure in the world of Formula 1 news, Cardile’s move to Aston Martin is a major development that will be closely watched by fans and enthusiasts alike.
