    Silverstone, UK

Lando Norris capped off a stellar Friday in Formula 1 by posting the fastest time in the second free practice session ahead of the British Grand Prix, edging out McLaren teammate Oscar Piastri by 0.331 seconds.

Norris’ impressive lap time of 1m26.549s on soft tyres propelled him to the top of the charts, displacing Piastri who had briefly held the fastest time earlier. The Briton’s performance solidified his position at the top of both Friday sessions, setting the tone for a thrilling qualifying session on Saturday.

In a closely contested FP2, Max Verstappen initially set the pace with a 1m27.831s on medium tyres, followed by Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton, who came close but couldn’t break the 88-second barrier on their initial laps. Carlos Sainz and George Russell also showed promising pace on medium tyres before the soft-tyre runs began.

As the session progressed, Verstappen’s time was surpassed by Leclerc, who briefly held the top spot before being overtaken by Nico Hulkenberg’s 1m26.990s. Piastri then posted a 1m26.880s, only to be outdone by Norris’ blistering lap.
