Mercedes-AMG Crowned Fourth Consecutive GT World Challenge Manufacturer’s Title

In a stellar display of dominance, Mercedes-AMG has secured its fourth consecutive Fanatec GT World Challenge powered by AWS global manufacturers’ title, as announced at the SRO Motorsports Group awards ceremony on Saturday. The German brand has left its competitors in the dust, outpacing six other prominent GT3 brands to take the top spot in SRO’s annual competition.

The SRO Motorsports Group’s global competition, which launched in 2019, recognizes manufacturers through the achievements of their customer teams. The championship tallies points from the four regional GTWC series in Europe, America, Asia, and Australia. With an unassailable 21,518 points, Mercedes-AMG leads the manufacturers’ standings, ahead of Audi Sport with 17,060 points, Ferrari with 13,780 points, and Porsche with 10,644 points. Lamborghini, McLaren, and BMW also participated in the championship.

Mercedes-AMG’s customer teams have demonstrated exceptional prowess, with the highest-finishing car per manufacturer in each class earning points that are multiplied by the number of cars entered in that class. The scores from each class are then combined to give a manufacturer’s points haul for a single race, with the 51-race GTWC season contributing to the overall tally.

One of the most significant contributors to Mercedes-AMG’s title was the TotalEnergies 24 Hours of Spa, where the brand racked up an impressive 4,664 points, accounting for almost 22 percent of its total points.

At the London awards ceremony, Mercedes-AMG’s head of Customer Racing, Stefan Wendl, accepted the globe-shaped Intercontinental GT Challenge powered by AWS trophy, following the brand’s manufacturers’ title win at the Indianapolis 8 Hour.

This significant achievement cements Mercedes-AMG’s position as a force to be reckoned with in the world of GT racing, with its unbeaten streak in the global competition a testament to the brand’s dedication to excellence.
